This past weekend Bellevue Baptist Church sent a team to the Outreach Center to help us with some projects as well as participate in some outreach in the community. The day was a great success on both accounts. There was re-organizing, assembling, demolition, electrical work, heavy lifting, cooking, and cleaning to be done and they got it all done efficiently and joyously. The fellowship we had was great to say the least.
The best part of the day, however, was getting to deliver nearly 200 fresh-cooked meals in the community and share the Gospel. We appreciated their desire to allow the Good News of Jesus to be the focal point of the day and as a result of our going out street-witnessing five people prayed to receive Christ as their Lord and Savior.
One of those new converts, Matthew, left the church the Thursday prior with the confession, “I don’t really believe in any of that stuff.” A witnessing team ended up at his apartment Saturday afternoon and he said he had just asked God to send him somebody to talk to. BOOM! Our God is great! I don’t know what happened to him the night before to prepare him for the gospel but I know God did it. Matthew asked Jesus to save him and said he couldn’t wait to tell us what happened. Praise the Lord!
I just want to end with something I’ve heard my dad say almost my whole life. If you are obedient to the Lord and go where He calls you and do what He asks, He will allow you to see things that you can’t buy for a million dollars. We are seeing some exceedingly precious things happen in the ministry right now and it is not only our obedience being blessed but also the obedience of all of you who help in any capacity. I would encourage you to pray for us to stay faithful and also to get involved in the work that God has called us all to: Sharing the Love of Christ.
